Nichi-In group of organizations as a contribution to the society have been supporting many activities as our corporate social responsibility initiative. One such initiative is our support to M/S Hope Foundation through which a project has been conceptualized to help and empower rural women and also to improve their health.
This project was named as Sakura and with the help of our support a team of socially motivated members of the society and Hope Foundation have jointly designed a sanitary napkin that could be produced without electricity, by rural women using locally available materials and sewing machine.
The picture shows Mr. Sunil Baliwal I.A.S, visiting one of the self help groups during the process of manufacturing
The advantage we have given to the product is not only the simple way of production but also a water absorbing gel (which is available only in high-end napkins) from Japan. This product is supplied by our japanese collaborators so that this sanitary napkin made by rural women is also as good in terms of quality (fluid absorption and retention capacity).
This product is now produced by more than 50 NGO's, NPO's and women self heap groups. Click here for more details
